Pop over to see more handmade goodness :)
Made by hand here this week is a summer top made from a vintage panel of Japanese
fabric (found at this very special Etsy store).
It was a very narrow panel, so I cut it in half and joined the sides to make the front panel of
the top.
I used some navy cotton and linen jersey from my stash for the back, bodice and trimmings :)
Hope you've had fun making too :)
Oooh la la, that's lovely. I want one too!
ReplyDeletehaha :) Thanks for that. Kx
DeleteFab Kylie, you will as my Grandma used to say, cut a dash in that one.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to cut my dash Jane! :) Kx
DeleteLove it! And as you say a very special Etsy store indeed. S:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally :) The piece I bought wasn't anywhere near as expensive as those other pieces... just felt I should say that ;) Thanks for stopping by. Kx
Deleteit's absolutely beautiful Kylie! And I love the addition at the top and bottom...stunning x
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen... those bits were born out of necessity (the fabric wasn't big enough!)

It's beautiful! I love that the size of the fabric didn't put you off and you were able to make such a striking garment. Is there no end to your talent? Hook, needle, sewing machine, lino, screen printing... what other secret skills do you have?! :)
ReplyDeletehaha, oh how I wish! ;) Thanks for your lovely words Christina :) Kx
DeleteSo lovely... what gorgeous fabric to work with! What pattern did you use for the top? I sooo need to make some tops for myself... Summers nearly here... Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lamina :) I actually used my own pattern I designed for my t-shirts but I had to tweak it for this one as it's non-stretch fabric. Summer is already here in Brisbane - it was 32ºC yesterday! Have fun making :) Kx
DeleteSo pretty! That kimono fabric is wonderful.
