So, the answer was 'to stitch'... and this is the first one done.
Paper block-printed in my original design 'Oasis' in copper, with my new as-yet-unnamed
original design embroidered by hand. (I'm in the process of burning a screen of this new
design which you'll no doubt see popping up on my fabrics soon).
Still working on the second one which has a much larger area of the hand embroidered
component (so it'll probably take me forever to finish it). I'm thinking of selling them as a
pair... I really like the way the work together :)
I'm joining in with Kirsty's Creative Space linkup. You can see more crafty creatives here.
More and more lately I've been wrapping presents in beautifully plain simple kraft paper.
I love it :) I think it has a pared-back elegance that softly whispers 'You're going to love what's inside here' ;)
Good old kraft paper does need a bit of neon pop to set it off though.... So, I've made up
some gift tags using my original artwork design, Oh! Embroidered 2, just for this purpose :)
If you feel like a bit of neon pop too, you can find some 'popping' gift tags here :)
I've been working on this piece for a long time now... too long I think... and I've come to a
grinding halt.
It's got to the stage where I actually prefer the back of the piece! (Well, to be fair, I do always
like the back of stitchery... but should I actually prefer it?)
Anyway, enough moaning. Just saying that this piece has been shelved for a while... maybe
a long while ;)
If you have any ideas, comments are very welcome :)
