Colour Me Happy Harlequin!

I've crocheted up my Harlequin Blanket pattern in a new colour scheme... what do you 
think? This colour combination makes me feel all at once warm and cosy and happy :)

New Harlequin Pattern

I've released a new crochet pattern in my Etsy store – my version of the fresh + bold 
Harlequin design :) With loads of instructions, both pictorial and written, it's an easy 
pattern that even beginners can use to create their own blanket.

It's the perfect time to get in early and start on your very own Harlequin blanket in time for 
the Winter!

New Crochet Pattern

It's been a while in the making, fine-tuning the details, testing and double-testing... 
but I've finally released a pattern for my Finger Wave crochet design... yah!



Okay, so it's not the best name in the universe ;) The base of the pattern uses a generic 
free-pattern ripple or wave design and my original design variations have turned out to look 
very much like little fingers to me... hence the name.

Anyway, I'm very excited to have finally got it all down into a pattern... and it's now available 
in my Etsy shop :)







I based the colour scheme on a beautiful orchid I have flowering at the moment.

The long road...

Have you ever started a project that just went on forever? There are no deadlines, you just 
do little bits here and there when you can, and the days turn to months... and then one day, 
you've actually finished and you can't quite believe it?

It's been a long road - I think I started this blanket at the end of the last summer (!) and here 
it is the beginning of this summer and it's ready for moth-ball storage until next winter ;)







Such a difficult colour to capture - even though it looks like graphite it really is a beautiful 
dark navy... Jo Sharp Mulberry Silk Georgette in Pebble (about a millions balls)... I had to 
pop out to the shops to buy more so often I've actually lost count of how many ;) 
64 panels in various patterns of about 15cms square, joined together with ladder stitch to 
form a queen bed-sized blanket.

This one's for my bed :)

More circus fun :)

No such thing as too much circus in this house! It's bright and fun and perfect for the still chilly Spring we're having :)









Green harlequin cushion, entirely handmade from sumptuous 100% Peruvian Highland wool. Now in the shop :)

Days for Girls

The lovely Cath at My Bearded Pigeon is organising a washer crochet-fest for Days for Girls 
and I've been making up a few to contribute. I had some cotton yarn in my stash that I've 
been using and here is the result...

Mad about Patterns

I've been going a bit pattern crazy here... and have listed another original pattern in my Etsy shop. 
This latest pattern is for my Zpagetti Shopping Bag.



I've been making plans... Working out what I want to do; what direction I see Paravent taking 
in the future. As much as I love crocheting and making things with yarn, I've decided these 
things take up more time than I have... hence the patterns for peeps to make their own :)

Made by Hand: Zpagetti bag

I found some sumptuously chunky wool in my stash the other day, and while I should have 
been doing a million other things I couldn't resist hooking up ;) Utilising some leftover denim 
zpagetti as well, I decided I definitely needed a big chunky (stylish) shopper in my life...







The denim is looking decidedly more grey than it actually is in these photos, but using the 
zpagetti is actually a fantastic happy coincidence because it's so strong!

And, just in case you're wondering about the size, when I said 'big' I really meant 'huge'...
it's gigantic :)





Wondering if I should do up a pattern for my Etsy store (which is so dull these days I'm 
considering dropping it all together actually). Anyway, patterns seem to be the way to go
lately with all the changes going on at Etsy... what do you think?

Crochet Shopping Bag

There are always things I should be doing, and personal projects that sneak their way into 
the mix... this one is the latter. A String Bag or Shopper or whatever you want to call it. I've 
seen images of this pattern floating around Pinterest for a while and managed to trace back 
to the pattern. If you want to have a go yourself, the pattern can be found here. 



For mine, I altered the pattern slightly. I used a 4 ply Panda crochet cotton in green, with a 
2mm crochet hook because I wanted it to be a bit tighter and stronger. Because of this and 
how it alters the gauge, I had to adjust the pattern by doubling all the stitch counts etc. In 
one part (the panel around the base plate) I thought it didn't look quite right so I trebled it... 
it's made it a bit baggy at the base but maybe that's a good thing because it'll hold more ;)




Anyway, this is it and I'm looking forward to taking it out on a test run when I do some 
grocery shopping this afternoon! Hope you have fun making yours :)

Finished Pouf

It's probably a few months since I finished crocheting this pouf for my eldest daughter, but 
finally I've got back to it and made an insert. So, here we have it – a finished pouf :)







I'd say it's a mid-sized pouf, about 60cms in diameter and 18cms in height. It's made from 
3 spools of zpagetti... that's about 360 meters of recycled t-shirt fabric. I used the crochet 
pattern from Evelien's Etsy shop, and for the insert I just made it up as I went ;)

Creative Space: T-shirting

I've been such a bad blogger, I'm sorry. There have been bits of craftiness going 

on though...  My sewing machine has started working again, so some of the waiting 

t-shirts with the crocheted motifs have been finished :)
