More circus fun :)

No such thing as too much circus in this house! It's bright and fun and perfect for the still chilly Spring we're having :)

Green harlequin cushion, entirely handmade from sumptuous 100% Peruvian Highland wool. Now in the shop :)

The Circus is in town!

I've just finished a special order and felt like having a bit of fun with some fabric panels
I found in my work drawer. This made me think of a super sparkly length of trimming that
I bought in New York years and years ago... and hey presto! Ladies and Gentlemen, I do
believe the circus has come to town! :)

Double-sided cushions in my original designs of Orbit (in Neon Pink and Neon Yellow)
and Oasis (in Neon Pink) printed on a medium-weight cotton.

A bit of circus fun... now in the shop :)

Workroom update

I've been a bit quiet here... but I have been working on some ideas, like printing notepads
and tiny pouches. This one is a birthday gift for a lovely friend but there are more on the way.

There are also some new designs in the copper on denim collection and I've been
accommodating to the smaller sizing with a mini version of my Oasis block.

Still working on these but hopefully they'll be in the shop soon. What have you been up to?

Copper/Denim Pouch

I've started making up the Copper/Denim pouches. This is the first one, a gift for someone special :)

Hope you're having a productive weekend too?

Days for Girls

The lovely Cath at My Bearded Pigeon is organising a washer crochet-fest for Days for Girls
and I've been making up a few to contribute. I had some cotton yarn in my stash that I've
been using and here is the result...

I'll be sending them off soon. Thanks so much for organising this Cath!

There's still time to hook some up if you're interested... just contact Cath :)

Embroidered Copper/Denim

A quick update on the copper/denim block printed pouches... I've finished adding the next layer of some copper thread.

I'll be making them up into pouches soon but I'm still on the look-out for some zippers with copper/bronze teeth to complete the look.

Hope you've had a productive week :)

Copper Oasis 2

All finished! Copper Oasis 2 - original design, hand block printed and entirely hand sewn :)

Funny how the completion of a work comes with that strange mixture of elation and just a
hint of sadness that it's over.

I think I need to do something that involves looking into the distance now ;)

Copper Oasis 1

So, the answer was 'to stitch'... and this is the first one done.

Paper block-printed in my original design 'Oasis' in copper, with my new as-yet-unnamed
original design embroidered by hand. (I'm in the process of burning a screen of this new
design which you'll no doubt see popping up on my fabrics soon).

Still working on the second one which has a much larger area of the hand embroidered
component (so it'll probably take me forever to finish it). I'm thinking of selling them as a
pair... I really like the way the work together :)

I'm joining in with Kirsty's Creative Space linkup. You can see more crafty creatives here.

Copper on Denim

I've been printing up some more fabric for pouches... this time using denim
block printed with my original Oasis design in metallic copper. Loving the lustre :)

Looking forward to the weekend too. Hope you've had a happy week?

New work (Urban Planning)

I've been working on this piece for a long time now... too long I think... and I've come to a
grinding halt.

It's got to the stage where I actually prefer the back of the piece! (Well, to be fair, I do always
like the back of stitchery... but should I actually prefer it?)

Anyway, enough moaning. Just saying that this piece has been shelved for a while... maybe
a long while ;)

If you have any ideas, comments are very welcome :)
